In May of 2022 LabAnalysis, an Italian environmental survey company, were contracted, as part of a wider project, to assess the vulnerability of a series of boreholes to surface pollution on an industrial site and to investigate the possibility for water to transfer from a settling basin into those boreholes. To achieve this, a fluorescein tracing operation was designed and implemented.

The protection of karst type landscapes and the water resources contained within, are a fundamental objective of any overseeing authority of these areas entirely covered by limestone formations.

As part of a project in the Dordogne, CPGF Horizon were contracted to investigate the susceptibility of a well to surface pollution. The project was further complicated by:
• The requirement to install equipment at a depth of more than 100 metres
• A complex installation - the cable had to pass through cable glands and packers to maintain the integrity of the well.
